Some of you may be wondering, after reading this story, why I have such an interest in the Holocaust, Hitler and World War II. For one reason, World War II began exactly 44 years before my birth and ended six years and one day later. For another, it's a topic that hits home in a way. Many of my relatives were serving for their country's military during this time. I have relatives who were part of the Gestapo, some who worked in Hitler's office, others who were killed by Hitler and his men because of their religion or willingness to help others, some who helped organize the attack AND counterattack on Berlin and relatives who helped make Switzerland a neutral country during that time. But mostly because I feel that mentioning these things will help make it so that no one else will ever even try to gain the power that Hitler had, let alone gain it and abuse it to the extent that he did.
Because of these things, I am writing this story in memorial of every person who died during Hitler's reign and because of him. I hope that never again will the world have to see millions and millions of people die and hear of millions more. I hope that never again will our soldiers and the soldiers of our allies and even enemies be killed to the extent that they were. And I hope that never again will be allow someone to take away our freedom or crucify us because of our personal choices.
For the men, women and children of those six years and one day, here is, "When Time Falls Apart."
