Collide

Collide

Three lights change to a massive five, standing on a pedestal, two at a time, two people who always take the blame collide.

He stood on the sidewalk. The light changed to say walk, and that he did.

She stood on the sidewalk. The light changed to say walk, and that she did.

They arrived in the middle of the road, and bumped shoulders. She fell to the ground, he apoligized. She started to curse him as the top of her lungs, and he took it in the center of his soul. They argued, and didn't watch as a car drove down the meridian, swerving back and forth. She stood, he began to walk off. The car sent her back to the ground. He just stood there.

Someone called the police, and with them came the paramedics. Both were taken to the hospital. She was treated for a concussion, and a broken arm. He was treated for shock.

That night, each lay in their own hospital bed, with a blue curtain around them, separating them from the other patients.

He thought it was all his fault. He had knocked her down. He had walked off. If he had been watching where he was going, it never would have happened. But, he had met her, and she was certainly pretty. Raven hair, skin pale, and yet tanned. Eyes a piercing green. Lips rosy, and full. Cheekbones just barely there. 5'6" or so, slightly overweight, feet slightly large. Pretty.

She thought it was all her fault. She hadn't accepted his apology. She had cursed him out. She hadn't moved from the center of the road. If she had been watching where she was going, it never would have happened. But, she had met him, and he was certainly handsome. Golden hair, skin rosy, and yet pale. Eyes a piercing blue. Lips thin, but pouty. A jawline strong, and sure. 5'10" or so, slightly underweight. Feet slightly large. Handsome.

He stood, and walked around his curtain. She stood and walked around hers. They bumped shoulders, and she fell to the ground. He apologized. She began to talk. "God damn you! Why do we keep meeting like this? I hate you!"

He glanced at the dogtag hanging around her neck. "Say my name."

Her lips trembled as she spoke. "Taylor Hanson."

He embraced her. She smiled. "Hold me closer."

He kissed her agressively. "I need you. right here, right now, and then forever."

She gave herself to him. Their bodies moved in perfect unison. They climaxed, and pulled away. Beads of sweat, semen, and virginal blood dotted the floor. They agreed to forget everything that had happened, if only to make themselves feel better. So, they didn't write. They didn't call. They made no attempt to contact eachother, even after she found out that she was pregnant. Even after she decided against abortion. Even after everyone ostracized her. Even after she died in childbirth.

He never found out, and thusly, didn't blame himself. But, many blamed him by blaming the child's father. One day, a year or so later, he sat down, and read the song that he had written the day after the incident. The refrain reminded him of what he had done, and he began to take the blame. "Hate eachother, collide. Say my name, collide. Hold eachother, collide. Need eachother, collide."

Three lights changed to a massive five, getting off the pedestal two at a time. Two people who took the blame wished they hadn't forgotten the first time they did collide.
